About SCJAS

The South Carolina Junior Academy of Science is a state-wide organization of high school students designed to stimulate and promote interest among its members through the development of independent research in science and mathematics. These investigations are of a problem-solving nature and their design serves as a means for students to do exciting things in science and mathematics beyond regular classroom activities.

Club Membership

Science club membership currently is $20.00 per club plus $8.00 per member. This membership entitles each member to receive the Junior Academy Newsletter, published periodically during the school year, and eligibility to participate in all state-wide Academy activities.

Individual Membership

Individuals who are not affiliated with a science club can become members for $8 per year. Individual members are entitled to the same benefits as those affiliated with a club.
